Yeah a lot of people seem to forget that technically speaking, "Mode 7" refers solely to the 7th layer of an SNES's graphics, which was commonly used for this early flatplane 3D style. Many people use the term for when arcade or Genesis attachments use it for simplicity's sake, but that's technically misleading and incorrect.
