I did some digging on the Chinese side of the internet, and this game (along with other Shanghai Paradise releases) were made by Cao Huaizen (or his alias Dr. Cao) to support his family when he reunited with his son from Shanghai after the Cultural Revolution in China. How sweet! |

@MarioTheGre: Well, there is a web game by the name of "The Owl House: Witch's Apprentice", so that alone would allow it, and even then I personally feel we should be relaxing the "has to appear in a game" requirement for customs to include TV shows and other licensed media. |

It always striked me as odd that they would use a completely different DK sprite with entirely different palette on the "how high can you get" screen Either this a result of questionable art direction, or some earlier DK sprite that was leftover due to time constraints, I can just imagine this Design with Animations, and it feels wrong |

His defeat sprites here might have a wackier face and 1 extra frame but I think the Famicom one manages to be better and more expressive but actually adding movement instead of keeping the same pose |

@SpaceHarrier64 I theorize that the unused music in the arcade labelled "lady" was gonna be used for that cutscene, and then the devs of the Famicom version tried to convert it but due to storage price and poor storage optimization, the process was stopped Something that could support this theory is how Pacman (which both have common inspirations for their power ups) had Intermissions So it only makes sense DK devs would try to implement something as such |

If I'm being very honest, DK's defeat sprite is much better in here than arcade, in arcade he kept his same normal pose, his face was wackier but the restricted pose made him less expressive |

Fun fact: in the Spanish dub, the delivery fish that misreads his name as "Tennisballs" says "Testicals" instead. Probably because "testículos" sounds more similar to "tentáculos" than "tenisboles" does. |

Since I mentioned the Ultimate Retro Mod on the Channel 6 staff page (and how mods need to be put into another game altogether), I should bring up that since Tiffany is made Bebop's hostage in the mod, Vernon is given new sprites to have him running away. |

I know that Mods need to be put into another game altogether, but there exists a mod (non-conflicting with Dimension Shellshock) called "Ulimated Retro Mod" which reinstates Tiffany as the hostage for Stage 1 and even gives her unique sprites for her being tied up and carried by Bebop. |
