Actually, it may be correct. The places it looked off are meant to be partly transparent.
The transparency looks off in places.
They just look different to the rips made by the NSMB2 fork of Reggie Next's tilesetthingy.exe
Nope. They came directly from the games files. I just cropped them a little so they didn't have those weird edges. Something look off?

M&L are models, like in all the other games :P.
The backgrounds are flat-ish models, unlike the high-res models in NSMBW/NSMBU/NSLU.

I believe M&L are models in this game. Personally I'd like to see the backgrounds, but I'm wondering if those aren't also models.
