Visual Pinball for anyone that wants to properly play this game outside of a physical table

@pacmastermeow That'd actually be really interesting to play! Maybe someone could make a fangame with recreations of BPM as well as another game.

@superjustinbros Why not play another game at the same time (for example, Super Mario World) and self-impose the rule that you have to press certain keys in BPM when certain things in your alternate game happen?

You technically can play the pinball portion in MAME, but it just amounts to hitting keys that trigger the different effects of the pinball table (which amounts to button-mashing the alphabet keys (plus ;) on the bottom two rows (except for G, H, and X which return you to the play field, with X "kicking" you out until you die or finish the level) until you get all 4 power pellets, full tunnel speed, and max fruit value. Fiddling with these keys is cheating, sure (especially since you can jut go back into pinball mode and mash some more to re-earn Power Pellets), but it's pretty much the only way you can effectively play the game without a fan-made recreation/hack that omits the pinball portion entirely.

For those of you unaware of this game, this is an exotic hybrid arcade/pinball game. The tunnels leading down take you to a lower pinball table, where you can get points and bonuses for the upper videogame section. This is how you get extra Power Pellets, and make fruit bonuses appear. It's pretty much impossible to emulate 100%; yes you can run the videogame section in MAME, but once you go to the pinball segment, well... you softlock the game because you can't do anything in a physical electromechanical element that isn't emulated!

The game itself, when played on the real thing, is actually pretty nifty. It's kind of hard to find in an arcade though. Pinball Wizard in NH has one.
