I'll just point out that the toys the sailors play with during their idles (Blowing bubbles, digging in the dirt with a shovel, jump rope, hula hoop, bouncy balloon on a rubber band, etc) all imply that the the sailors in this game are actually young children, not teenagers like they are in the anime.

That does not, in fact, make this better in any way.

@Doc von Schmeltwick I think Capcom's chibi design for Sakura in Puzzle Fighter suffers the worst for resembling a loli. Doesn't help that she gets all fanservice-y outfits either.

Well at least in her case, it fits her name. I personally don't think chibi-ing a character makes any difference, I mean technically speaking, chibi in general seems to owe much of its origin (or at least popularity) to how Betty Boop was stylized nearly 100 years ago.
