Nice sprites, too bad that Sonic 1 SMS/GG uses a lesser-known graphics format for most of the sprites, making a lot of these unusable in an actual hack. In short, Sonic uses a 3BPP graphics mode; that is, 3 bits per pixel, meaning only 8 colors (7 + transparent). This is why Sonic's shoes in the game are brown! Also, the non-sprite rings only get a whopping... 4 colors (3 + transparent). Lost rings use the same palette as Sonic, so they can have more detail, but the ones that show up as tiles, not so much. Unless you wanted to sit down and redo every single stage palette? S1SMS/GG did Weird Stuff with palettes. Also thank you for properly crediting me. |

This is a welcoming custom. It is such a good manga, and the live action movie is brilliant thanks to being true to it, making it the only Hollywood manga adaptation with positive reception from fans. (Every other manga adaptation sucks for many reasons) Helps that the director and producer knew their stuff thanks to being big anime nerds. (Yes, that means James Cameron and Robert Rodriguez are weebs like us. XD) That's what made it stand out after every other failed manga adaptation bombed. (There's no defending them. Especially Ghost in the Shell which had really racist implications at the end due to the whitewashing) |
