@Dark_Ansem I've been pulling most of the files from the Japanese version of the game, purely because it's better organized than the GL version. If anyone knows how to decrypt the unit information, I already have quite a few characters that are JP version exclusives. |

Oct 24, 2024, 9:19 AM | MollyChan | Sheet: Secret Character VS Portraits (Vampire Savior) |
@MotorRoach yeah, that alternate Lilith (who also gets Morrigan's voice clips alongside the palettes) is probably the least-well-known thing in the Darkstalkers games. Probably because she is only relegated to one of the older console ports of Vampire Savior, and she isn't even a wholly unique character like Dee is. That, and the fact that you NEED to have that "shortcut" mode enabled to select her, a fact which every single "video game secrets and cheats" site I've come across TOTALLY neglects to mention, if they even mention her at all. The proper full access method for her is to enable "SHORTCUT" in the options menu, and then when on the simplified character select screen (which is just a black screen with text), press SELECT while you have Lilith highlighted in the list. Her name should change colour, and once you select her, she'll have Morrigan's palette and voice. |

Apart from "why is there a grinch ds game," why is the grinch wearing yellow overalls and boots? I had to look up the game to see if it was explained, and not only wasn't it explained, I am now thoroughly depressed from having seen that game and thinking of the poor saps who probably got it as a gift. |

He's so adorable! I really like how this was based on the Sonic in SMB1 bootleg, but it's been polished up! Brilliant work! |

Really good portraits, could've fooled me with how convincing Marionette looks there. Also, never knew about the PS1 Lilith palette secret, that's pretty cool. |
Oct 23, 2024, 10:28 PM | Doc von Schmeltwick | Sheet: Particles and Effects |
Revision sent: Moved level objects to a different sheet, as they are not particle effects. Added cloud effects from Airship stages. Uses consistent NEStopia palette. |
Oct 23, 2024, 10:26 PM | Doc von Schmeltwick | Sheet: Level Items, Magic Wands and NPCs |
Revision sent: Moved a lot of things from the Particle Effects and Tile Set sheets (that were neither as they were sprite-layer interactive level objects), added some more unaccounted for things, and added more palettes and better explanations of them. Uses consistent NEStopia palette. |

I just noticed that the character art for DoS is a bit more colorful in the Dominus Collection. Best example being with Soma as he uses a more natural peach color for his dialogue |

You can shut up now. Only said that back then because that was when the soundclip of "GRAND DAD!!" was constantly annoying in their songs, before we got the more interesting remixes. (Like songs from one game being in the style of the other, or extended versions of existing songs) Also, seriously, replying to an ancient post like that |

Oct 23, 2024, 4:29 PM | Keenfan1990 | Sheet: Round 2 (USA) |
@Doc von Schmeltwick The US version has way more ladders than the Chinese version, where they're just blank spots. There's a few other minor things, like crate placement and the platform right before the end of the stage. |
Oct 23, 2024, 3:53 PM | Yawackhary | Sheet: Game Parodies |
Had another look at this and these parodies kind of accidentally became part of Sega's future history. - Darius became included on the Mega Drive mini. - Sega bought TMS meaning they were involved with later Lupin III entries - Sega also bought Atlus (Maken X) - Mega Man had a comic crossover with Sonic - A few Pokémon games appeared on the Pico and even had a special Pikachu Pico. - Clutching straws but Sega Lolly coincidentally caused Sega later on to do the Sega Hard Girls series, just with consoles and not the cars from Sega Rally... - Another clutching straws but not Sega this time... Bandai went with Namco and Bandai Namco mainly do anime licensed games @Dark Weeb I think it might be a pixelated version of Tokimeki Memorial, it does kinda look like Shiori Fujisaki... Japanese copyright law is quite strict to the point where I think if Sega did this now, they might only include six of them (even the Lupin one is questionable now...). |

Going through and correcting issues I see on these, as well as re-ripping with the NEStopia colors since many of these were ripped on ancient emulators or unaltered FCEUX. (You can change the palette data on FCEUX to use the NEStopia colors, actually, very helpful.) |
