Knuckles (Sonic's Gameworld-Style)
Gameworld did come out a few months after Sonic 3 so him being absent from it is very odd. The two were certainly at least in development around the same time.

Drawing Page
You can definitely tell this page was added in the western version lol

Also definitely understandable that they scrapped the Robotnik drawing, what the hell were they doing using his AoStH design in 1996 especially when he retains his Japanese design in the rest of the game

Animals
thas a great crab

Characters and Obstacles
I'll never get why they drew entirely an new version of DK's chest banging sprite. They already used the originals in the opening cutscene so them doing this actually took MORE effort than if they had just reused those.
What?

Characters and Obstacles
I like how the colors were so messed up in the original Crazy Kong that they decided to do a "part 2" sequel entirely just to make them SLIGHTLY better lmao
Aug 9, 2024, 9:50 AM Snessy the Duck Sheet:
General Sprites
added the Alca logo from the UK version of the game
Aug 1, 2024, 1:59 PM Snessy the Duck Game:
Card Game (JPN)
well that's a straightforward title if there ever was one
Jul 17, 2024, 3:44 PM Snessy the Duck Sheet:
Sally Yumeno (Minky Momo - Remember Dream-Style)
really delightful seeing more out there customs like these
Jun 7, 2024, 1:32 PM * Snessy the Duck Sheet:
Barbie
Crazy how she has more walking frames and is a whopping 16 pixels taller than Batman is in Return of the Joker, and that game was already very compromised in terms of level and enemy design due to the sheer size of the sprites.
May 17, 2024, 2:43 PM Snessy the Duck Sheet:
HUD & Unused
fun fact: that unused font's from the original Castlevania's cast roll
Apr 27, 2024, 4:01 PM Snessy the Duck Sheet:
Sonic 1 (Tokyo Toy Show Recreation)
Fun fact: thanks to some newly uncovered magazine screenshots, we now know that the sign doesn't say Never Seen as most people thought, but rather Never Open, which... doesn't really make any more sense lol
Apr 27, 2024, 9:09 AM Snessy the Duck Sheet:
Ending
OH!YA!
Mar 20, 2024, 4:02 PM Snessy the Duck Sheet:
Battle Background (2 Player Game)
Of note is that this IS used during the main game in World 5-1's bonus room. It's not particularily fitting though, which is probably why Advance 4 would end up replacing it with the regular cloud background.
Mar 14, 2024, 4:14 PM Snessy the Duck Sheet:
Cutscenes
Given how the proportions are kind of alright compared to, well, everything else, I wouldn't be surprised if all of these are traced lol

Devs aren't exactly hiding their plagiarism either: the game itself is a direct clone of Taito's Flipull
Mar 9, 2024, 12:11 PM Snessy the Duck Sheet:
Woods of Wandara Tileset
definitely no understatement to call this one of the prettiest damn things ever done on the snes
Mar 9, 2024, 11:06 AM Snessy the Duck Sheet:
Startup (Unused)
Gee, I sure do wonder why these are unused!
Mar 9, 2024, 10:13 AM Snessy the Duck Sheet:
Playable Character
Peak character design
Mar 4, 2024, 2:13 PM Snessy the Duck Sheet:
Mike Wazowski
that front facing sprite's got mad emote potential
Feb 29, 2024, 4:12 PM Snessy the Duck Sheet:
Screens (2.00 Momohime)
imagine if the only reason crazybus was made was because they just REALLY wanted to put these pictures of buses out there somehow
Feb 19, 2024, 1:45 PM Snessy the Duck Sheet:
Mario
The "always a consistent distance from the screen" argument doesn't really hold much water considering the game zooms the camera on a few occasions, most notably at the start of some levels and when jumping from the Spin Block. Don't really wanna see this sheet deleted though, it's neat as a historical curiosity.
Jan 2, 2024, 12:11 PM Snessy the Duck Sheet:
Bosses
I love how the game tries to be semi-realistic for the first 3 stages and then it just goes Insane
Dec 22, 2023, 4:26 AM Snessy the Duck Sheet:
Odie
Really funny how fuckin A Week of Garfield has a more accurate Odie sprite than this lmao
Dec 13, 2023, 2:02 AM Snessy the Duck Sheet:
Backgrounds
Gave the bottom three backgrounds a long overdue rerip, their palettes were indeed completely busted in the last revision (most notably the castle background which was missing like 80% of its colors).
Oct 5, 2023, 5:14 AM Snessy the Duck Sheet:
Blue Falcon
@TheofficialCL Considering each vehicle has almost 50 sprites + 5 unique decals, I really wouldn't call it lazy.
Aug 2, 2023, 9:47 AM * Snessy the Duck Sheet:
Shops and Helpers
This is missing all of the characters involved in the Hero's Emblem "sidequest", namely Catherine the orange dragon, the old goat and the catfish.
Mar 27, 2023, 4:26 PM Snessy the Duck Sheet:
Logos
I wonder how many Nintendo games that old Japanese logo has appeared in. I believe this is the only one where it's used instead of the standard one. Pretty odd.
Mar 16, 2023, 3:23 PM * Snessy the Duck Sheet:
Sliding Puzzles
Sony's quality control must've been out to lunch the day this got approved, sure can't see any other way the developers got away with literally just including Kimba stills in the game (I'm assuming from the sequel series specifically since him and his girlfriend who I forgot the name of are grown up here)

How on earth did this even happen though? All of their other Dingo Pictures mockbuster "games" use stills from the actual included movies for the "minigames". Did they accidentally rip stills from a copy of the sequel series instead of the mockbuster and not realize until it was too late? Probably.

Grassland
This is absolutely brilliant. That questionmark block animation especially is just, mwah
Dec 9, 2022, 1:57 PM Snessy the Duck Sheet:
Screen Transitions
god damn, wonder how these were done
Dec 9, 2022, 1:56 PM Snessy the Duck Sheet:
Bobomberman
absolutely brilliant
Sep 19, 2022, 4:13 PM Snessy the Duck Sheet:
Enemies
gotta say for a famicom softcore strip mahjong game from 1990 these designs and artstyle go extremely hard
Aug 2, 2022, 6:46 PM Snessy the Duck Sheet:
Drawing Page
odd how they used sonic's japanese design here
May 2, 2022, 5:14 AM Snessy the Duck Sheet:
Winston (Genesis-Style)
I can understand how the stats would make adding 4 playable characters cumbersome, but it is rather odd how he's not even mentioned anywhere in the game itself.
Apr 27, 2022, 3:50 AM Snessy the Duck Game:
The Outfoxies
hell yeah
Apr 17, 2022, 4:48 PM Snessy the Duck Sheet:
Proto Man (Wily Wars-Style)
Wily Wars' rushed development really showed with how the og sprite was just a reshade of the nes one, glad to see him given the proper treatment here

Super Sized Mario Bros.
Glad to see this masterpiece finally ripped

Unknown Creature
This thing's adorable why'd they have to cut it :(
Mar 15, 2022, 4:52 AM Snessy the Duck Sheet:
Knuckles (Somari NES-Style)
@JonGandee I mean that just makes it more accurate to Somari's spritestyle. Great job replicating the Hummer Team jank in these!

Dungeons
god these are mindblowingly good for 87
Feb 9, 2022, 4:24 AM Snessy the Duck Sheet:
Title & Logos
amazing thumbnail, really sells how hilariously bad the Galaga 3 logo looks
Jan 11, 2022, 2:16 AM Snessy the Duck Sheet:
Enemies & Bosses
Funny to see how a bunch of these are blatantly traced from Tower of Druaga
Jan 3, 2022, 2:33 AM Snessy the Duck Sheet:
Ending
man this screen was surely worth slogging through the entire game for
Jan 3, 2022, 2:31 AM Snessy the Duck Sheet:
Mario
I absolutely love how they used Pikachu's Brawl render for no reason
Dec 29, 2021, 2:45 PM Snessy the Duck Sheet:
Annalynn
I'm pretty sure that gear's just a default GMS sprite

also I'd like to note how some of these have part of her feet cut off
Nov 29, 2021, 3:52 AM Snessy the Duck Sheet:
Text & Portraits
@EvilMariobot That definitely sounds like something from an early 2000s rom hack. Wonder if it's still up somewhere.
Nov 12, 2021, 2:37 AM Snessy the Duck Sheet:
Staff Credits
interesting how they went with a completely different font for the chinese release
