Man I wished the notification system was a lot better on this as I'm only now seeing your response.

@lego_whovian With all do respect um... no they weren't. The Pokemon I had listed were in fact updated since Let's Go. Butterfree, Raichu, Ninetales, Dugtrio, Persian, Magneton, Marowak, Weezing, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon & Omastar were all still using their 3DS sprites up till that point since they all fell under the size requirement of being 3 feet or taller.

The rest are completely different ranging from updates to the shading like in the case of Tentacruel, Rapidash & Kantonian Exeggutor, to parts of body being either repositioned or outright tweaked like in the case of M20 Cap Pikachu, both Nidos, Golduck, Slowbro, Alolan Exeggutor, Scyther, Tauros, Kabutops, Aerodactyl, Articuno & Melmetal, to straight up being remade from the ground up. Put the sprite Pinsir has in LGPE next to the one it has in SwSh & you you find that the differences are very much night & day. Same thing goes for the Pokemon Hitmonlee, Mr. Mime, Jynx, Electabuzz, Magmar, Zapdos & Moltres. I have been working with these sprites for a couple years now so I know when something is different about them.

@MBCMechachu all of those sprites were introduced in Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee, which didn't have the artifacting problem. But thanks for letting me know about Kingler, idk how i missed that

@SpritZ because the Smogon team already got onto doing this over a year ago. Though I suppose it's nice to see other people cleaning them up too.

@lego_whovian Jesus christ, that sounds like hell! Pretty interesting that the artifacting is in 2x2 squares, I'm used to artifacting working like in JPEGs. Also, regarding this sheet being outdated, I should note that BDSP is likely to have only the National Dex up to Arceus, since it's a Gen IV game and that's how far up it goes, so your sheet should still be decently dated.
Forget that, they don't even use the same icons, they've instead opted for pictures of their 3D models instead of sprites.

Just why did they have to make these sprites a JNG of all things? I bet its for compression, but there could be other wacky reasons for it.

I HAVE RETURNED! just in time for BDSP to immediately outdate me again, probably
I was unaware that every* fully-evolved Pokémon that wasn't in Let's Go got a new sprite, and the DLC came out soon after I made the first version, but it shouldn't have taken me that long.
Sprites are listed in National Dex order, if you notice a sprite missing check to see if USUM or Let's Go has a clean version and let me know if it doesn't!

@MisterMike essentially I had to completely redraw them. I used an app called Pixel Studio, imported each sprite into a frame of an animation, and drew over them on a new layer. I tried to match the original colors to the best of my ability, which usually came down to checking which color was the most common. I noticed that the artifacting was in 2x2 squares of pixels, and then could work out what the original square probably looked like before its colors got mixed together.

*For some reason Porygon2, Wailmer, and Type: Null got new sprites too despite having evolutions; but base Rotom, Cradily, and 10% Zygarde didn't.

As someone who despises the trashy artifacting on the originals, I absolutely love that you did this!
By the way, can you give us some insight as to how you went about doing this?

And just like that, this sheet became outdated.

AFAIK a lot of the final-evolution Pokémon have newer sprites that are bigger than the rest, such as Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, etc. The rest have their old ones, though. I've never played SwSh, this info is coming from the fact that Bulbapedia's National Pokédex List page has newer sprites for such Pokémon. You might want to check this in-game before acting on this info, since I'm not sure if it's true, but I don't know why Bulbapedia would make these sprites custom when the games have the old ones.

It looks like the Pokemon sprites from Let's Go Pikachu. Nice work!

I'm guessing you did some shading.
Then again, I can't really tell the difference.
