SD stands for Super Deformed, dunno if it's a formal title or just another term.

@Snessy "SD"? *looks up* Ah, SD Gundam. I didn't know there was a formal term for "chibi" that was officially used to denote a spin off. Good thing the NES sprites are slightly better than the Famicom version (though it still looks awkward compared to the Sunman prototype). Then again, this was one of the first licensed NES games and developers didn't have access to the system's full potential.

I'm surprised they didn't call this game SD Superman, considering that's clearly what they were going for with the graphical style.
