You know the drill by now: New update, new sheets, let's talk about it!
This week's largest single game update comes courtesy of Leo Plays YT, from the cult classic game Super Mario Bros. Crossover. If you're wondering why some of the faces are green, well... honestly, I have no idea, I haven't played this game in years. 100% Orange Juice fans are eatin' good this update with a whole bevy of rips courtesy of Starhead and our very own Random Talking Bush, and fans of the iconic Osomatsu-San will be delighted to hear that we have more rips from their mobile game, once again delivered by Biggest_Chungus.
Alxala continues their quest to rip every single copyright screen they can for damn-near every game imaginable. Speaking of, TeridaxXD001 delivers upon us several more rips from the Wii U Virtual Console. I wonder if he'll ever run out of those...? And speaking of the Wii U, DogToon64 continues to bring us some nice rips from said console and it's predecessor.
The Customs section once again contains within a good selection of things to look at, preferably with our eyeballs pressed directly against the screen. The Kirby series in particular was given a lot of love this week thanks to submissions from FieryExplosion and lev. Always nice to see the pink puffball get some love, since it tends not to happen as frequently as I'd like. Sonicfan32, whomst you may remember for his excellent Boomer the Turtle and Gex custom sheets, brings us yet another of his works, this time for Launchpad McQuack from the NES Ducktales game, remade in much higher fidelity. And finally, Sir Hoopsalot submits for us more Mega Man customs, this time of Jupiter and Venus from Mega Man V on Game Boy in the style of the NES games. Funny that this game out just after I had updated my Stardroids NES custom sheet, a funny coincidence to be sure!
And as always, plenty more sheets where that came from, so be sure to give it all a look over, preferably with your eyeballs pressed directly against the screen. The month of June is rolling onwards, and with it comes some nice new games to play. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge just came out recently, and plenty of people have been enjoying it thus far. (Don't worry, we'll be sure to get rips of that game uploaded soon!) Sonic fans are eatin' good with the upcoming Sonic Origins collection, which I'm very excited to check out, and not just for the mod support, either! And the new Cuphead DLC is finally, FINALLY seeing release very soon as well, so be sure to brush up on your shootin' and parryin' skills!
That about does it for this update, but of course, here's another bit of advice from yours truly in this week's Spriting Tip of the Week! This time we'll be highlighting a detail that many submitters tend to misuse, intentionally or otherwise, that being the "Update" flag. When revising your sheets, you are given the option of checking whether or not to have your revised sheet show up in the next update. Ideally, this should only be done when your revision is significant enough to warrant attention, such as with complete rerips or major additions, such as new graphical content from a mobile game. Unfortunately, it's not uncommon for people to check this box for even the smallest revisions they make. Of course I'm not saying this is done intentionally my most who do it, or that everyone is doing this. All I'm saying is to be mindful of when you check this box, only do so when your update is significant enough to warrant it.
Alright, that's enough lecturing from me. Go on out there and enjoy your weekend! Go to your local park and roll around in the grass and drink water from the river or whatever kids do these days on the Tick-Tocks or whatever! See you all next week!
