@pacmastermeow most of the sprites are different, only 3-4 pages are shared, the rest is entirely different.

Not necessarily hard (though Mushroom Hill was hell just in the map format), it's time-consuming and I'm in full-time employment compared to this time two years ago. When there's other things to also take care of, you can only do so much at once.

Yeah, i noticed the jigsaw method on the Angele Island maps. Pretty neat solution, but i don't think Death Egg is a good candidate for it. I've actually gotten a fair amount done on act 1 using the palette provided on the DE objects sheet and i'd like to pm you the progress i've made so far.

Well, Lava Reef just became easier now that I've managed to establish it as a jigsaw puzzle. I just need to make the jigsaw pieces.

You're welcome! A little more (is what I say but the actual workload required for them is high) and all the acts will be uploaded! Lava Reef Zone itself needs complete overhauling to make sure of a few things too, besides the more recent Mushroom Hill and Flying Battery Zones, everything else to be brought to the new standard will be smooth sailing.

^This is what i was referring to. I'd like to try to come up with some techniques that'd help it's progression. It's my favorite Zone (Lava Reef being a close 2nd).

Sonic 1's done, just needs to be brought to the new standard. Sonic 2 is still very much far from done, to the point that Sonic 3 is so much closer to completion than it; CD's probably at around the same amount of completion in terms of percentage. For here, there's a fair amount that needs to be sifted through and done, mostly down to the stage maps: Mushroom Hill (in progress), Flying Battery, Lava Reef Act 2 (on hold), Death Egg (on hold to identify new tactics to get at it). Prototypes are a whole other ballgame.

Let's see, i believe you've gotten Sonic 1 done, and Sonic 2 if i'm not mistaken. The only thing in 3&K that seems to be left is the Death Egg maps. If you need any assistance with the tile set animations i can take a swing at it.

New standard for palette display that helps with other sprite rippings I may not have gotten to yet, thus simplifying the later processes, and the disclaimer box which in my current circumstances is very much needed because I've had enough of "there's a mistake here" being out in public - it's forcing my hand to resolve it quickly when I may not be able to resolve it quickly. At least in PMs, I can address it and give an ETA.

There were a few fixes along the way too.
