The S3 skid dust has shading, while the S2 one does not. It is fixed not though

@pacmastermeow: Tails and Sonic have the same palette. You can find the regular palette on Sonic's sheet.

Neither of the palettes shown in the sheet seem to correspond to the regular sprites (e.g. hurt/sliding, dash, idle). Will someone fix this?

Also, his sideways sprite in the Special Stage is somewhat shorter than his upright sprite.

It seems like SEGA simply duplicated Sonic's Special Stage sprite and edited it to look like Tails, but forgot Sonic's tan arms on Tails. ?

@garc302 Tails' flying sprites are only used as a respawn animation, meaning he can't fly under player control, and he can't get tired. This was changed in the 2013 release where he could fly like in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, so he was given carry and tired sprites there.

That's because it didn't exist in Sonic 2 - you didn't fly as him, he only flew when coming back to Sonic.

Because they blend so well with his fur color from far away AND are covered by his tails. As such, they could use the same arms as on the Sonic one without making any more changes, I imagine, and few people would notice.

Doesn't Tails have the little miniature tails Continue sprite that appears on the Results screen after you beat a zone? Like the one Sonic has?
