@NotMGM64 Water palettes are not determined by act, but by zone, that is why

How is there an underwater pallete for LBZ1? There's no water in the act!

they should've made an emerald behind hidden palace, a rock behind doomsday, and one of those teleporter thingies behind sky sanctuary.
edit: my sky sanctuary one is true yay-
edit2: i can use TDZ's card for hidden palace yay

It's the potted plant that you see in places throughout the foreground layer.

That thing from the original that looks like Sonic's and Tails's hair mixed together on meth is a tree?

Um, the second one
is
Marble Garden's, Doc. Even the (tiny) abbreviations underneath the icons say so (MG = Marble Garden).
Angel Island's icons aren't on the sheet as it's just the same as the original Sonic 3's, otherwise they'd be placed before Hydrocity's.

That's what I was thinking, but where are the Marble Garden cards then?
I see Hydrocity, Angel Island, Carnival Night, Icecap, Launch Base,
Mushroom Hill, Flying Battery, Sandopolis, Lava Reef, Death Egg,
and Sky Sanctuary.
But no Marble Garden.

THANK GOD
also hello.

It's an adaptation of the splash sprite from the Act 2 waterfalls, much like how elements from Marble Garden, Carnival Night, Launch Base, Mushroom Hill, Flying Battery and Sky Sanctuary are adapted for their cards.

Then is the strange thing in the beginning supposed to represent Hydrocity? Or are they nixed from this hack in favor of something else?

@Schmeltwick That's the point. The icons above reflect the stage they're on the title card of. The Palm Trees reflect Angel Island Zone, and in the original games are just carried throughout the rest of the title cards in Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles, where an act number is noted.

I'm not understanding what the first two pairs of icons represent. Shouldn't there be three before the balloon?
Angel Island, Hydrocity, Marble Garden....

Yeah, i'm sorry for the bad choices, i'll try to do better on my next rip.

I was the one who changed the sheet and included the Sky Sanctuary icon. the black was a poor choice of colour to use when the sprites main colour is gray.

I do question why the Death Egg symbol uses the Wing Fortress Eggman symbol, given
Sonic CD
first showed the current variation. Granted, it went right back for the
Sonic Drift
artwork, but still.....

@RaymanFan and @KnucklesLover It's been changed now, it seems.

Couldn't you have used a bright color like pink or green for the background? I can barely see the icons...

This sheet is lacking the Sky Sanctuary icon (it appears after you beat Mecha Sonic as Sonic).
