Maybe the shrugging sprites were planned to be used when Sonic failed a Special Stage, and Sonic sinking in the 6th frame could be: A. It wasn't finished B. It was a mistake C. When Sonic fails the Special Stage on the water (Water makes the timer go down SUPER fast) |

@Mr. L You're not wrong. A whole level was cut but the main obstacle is still in the sprite data. (Early magazine previews featured screenshots of what it could've been: It was going to have crazy 3D map effects and such) The second level's original boss was scrapped but all his animations were discovered. (All that was left of him in the released game was a portrait in the fifth level, with many players wondering who the giant pig dressed as Santa was) So yeah, it could be possible a Dark Queen final battle was planned but never made. Imagine what her actual sprites would've been like. |

Noice. About time rips for this showed up. There's so many cool assets in Amiga exclusive first person shooters, it's a shame the system doesn't get enough ripping done for them. (Same with many exclusive games of all genres with beautiful pixel art) Fears is pretty quirky for it's bizarre and uncanny enemy design. They sure loved giving them creepy-looking faces |

Maybe that's how the sprites were in the prototype, and then they realized how much more space would be saved if they seperated his body parts instead of having multiple full body sprites |
