Understood. It may just be the last name reference as it's very Italian and the games reflect that all the time.

I thought it was a reference to:

salvo (n): A concentrated fire from a greater or less number of pieces of artillery, for the purpose of breaching, etc., the simultaneous concussion of a number of cannon-balls on masonry, or even earthwork, producing a very destructive effect.

@SmithyGCN, it's meant to be a play on the word "saliva." Although, it is an Italian surname.

Salvo isn't a name as far as I know... what IS a Salvo, exactly?

Would it be fine if I updated this sheet to include the Block Slime from 6-4 and 6-8? I know it's technically not a boss, but it's pretty much just a recolored Salvo.

Pretty old news considering the GBA version's been ripped for a long time...

Ohhhhhhhh, that's interesting. I've always wondered how the parts for graphical mode-dependent sprites like this looked internally. I guess the game just take Salvo's height, starts at the bottom, and shrinks it and moves it up to the top as he takes damage, and tapers the top and bottom to give him his shape... If the tapering effect were equal on the top and bottom, then its interaction with the triangular/conical shape of the internal sprite would also be responsible for his normally bottom-heavy shape...
