Hey there, what's hootin', what's hollerin', what's shootin' your dollerin'? I hope someone out there is shooting you dollars. I sometimes have people shooting me dollars and it's pretty nice.

Anyhoo, we gots some more Powerpuff Girls (courtesy of moi, more's on the way too), Pac-Man, a fartload of customs, Paper Mario, Rick & Morty, Puyo Puyo, and many contributions from the "Other Systems" project happening on the forum. Go check it out and maybe help out!

@kendotlibero I meant do you have to wait for the full game to be released, before ripped resources from a demo will be accepted.

Does that policy include official demos?

Yes. As long as you can prove that you are indeed the developer/publisher/rights holder of the game in question, you can obviously do whatever you want with the assets. My comment was directed more towards AAA publishers who would not give us that permission (let alone submit themselves). We respect their wishes to not spoil content which is why we have a blanket policy to not accept anything before the game is out with very few exceptions (the one you mentioned being one of them).

So let me get this straight, if I have an Indie game, that I own the rights to, that has yet to be released and it has enough hype and/or is well known enough, I could submit it here. Am I understanding that right?

I meant excited on the scale of something like Mario + Luigi (or more specifically, I meant AAA games - some indie developers have explicitly given permission and even submitted things themselves in the past).

Indie games are pretty popular and get hype, so there's a bit of likelihood with that, particularly ones that learned to sprite from the assets here.

@Petie okay...

The likelihood of that happening for a game people are really excited for is basically zero so no, we won't be accepting them even if someone claims they have permission. New games will need to wait until they've been released in all announced regions. If a developer really wanted to submit content themselves and they could prove they own the assets, that's different but there will never be a case where a company like Nintendo comes to us to submit sprites for their unreleased game.

@Petie what if the copyright owner submitted it? Or if someone submitted it with the permission or request of the copyright owner?

Not just the US - we require the game to be released in all announced regions before we'll accept anything from it. You can submit before then if you have access to the files somehow but we won't accept them until the game is out.

So... until the game is officially released, no one is allowed to upload any kind of sprite/model?

@LooneyTunerIan This site doesn't upload any kind of sprites/models of any game that hasn't been officially released.

Did anybody get an early release of Mario + Luigi: Superstar Saga and Bowser's Minions? I'm seeing videos of them on YouTube.
